Casting Jack sparrow buckles....

I was wondering if you all of you wonderfully talented people might have some insight as to the best material to cast buckles out of...I have the materials to cast them in bronze but do you think that's overkill? Would resin hold up well enough? I am pretty sure pewter is too soft. Just looking for some pointers thanks.

If you want to make your own, then I say it's probably worth giving Pewter a try. If the buckles thick enough, then it should be strong enough. Even if it does fail, pewter isn't too expensive, and you could always melt it down again and cast something else.

bronze is a good material and you can patina it to any look, but pewter is an easy start and if its thick enough it will be fine, this replica ramirez belt i made has all pewter fittings and holds up fine...
