Casting hollow parts in foam?

Due to how ridiculously expensive good carving pumpkins are becoming, I’m interested in making my own carvable foam pumpkins for personal use, similar to the Funkins you see online. However, I don’t know how they make the hollow foam casts, and keep the insides looking so consistent. How is this done, and is it possible to do yourself using regular casting materials?

Use a plug for the inside. That plug can either be suspended or inflatable depending on the material involved.

You could try casting them in halves and then gluing the two halves together.
