Carl Sagan's Cosmos: A Personal Voyage - The Spaceship of the Imagination interior

Working on creating the Imagination's interior as a digital model for a short animation that I'm adapting from a web comic.

I've created an animatic of the story. Have the annotations on to read the dialogue.
(Voice acting auditions are in place and open to all, by the way. Read about it in the video description.)

And here's my in-progress Carl, based on the comic's art style.

Getting back to the Imagination, I'm looking to see if anyone knows of any images or information about the interior set, aside from what is in Cosmos. I know this is going back aways, but I figure that someone might know something about it or have something that might help me out. I ought to be able to do it from screenshots, but I'm just curious if this might turn up anything new or exciting.

That is going to be hard. From what I remember, the thing was pretty spartan. Probably just him looking at amazement at a green cloth.

Back then it would have been a blue cloth. :lol

I remember seeing some pictures in a magazine way back when. Might have been Starlog. I will take a look.

Is it wrong that i read all his lines in the animatic in his slow monotone voice? lol.

Rick Sternbach of Star Trek fame worked on that project. If you go to his website (Space Model Systems Home Page) I bet you can find some kinda contact info. He seems like a nice guy if you ask him about stuff. I've e-mailed him a couple times myself over the years and he seems pretty friendly. I asked him once about the miniature set of the Alexandria Library that appeared on COSMOS and he was quite forthcoming with what could recall. Great guy.

I can't find the pictures in Starlog. Maybe it was Fantastic Films magazine? I will keep digging.
