I'm making a pair of custom pistols for a freind of mine and thought that you may want to see them.

Timber, MDF and plastic pipe Mik.

Nice! I'm going to eventually do Rex's blasters and the DC-15 guns and will probably use MDF. How do you attach it, glue, or can you screw into it? I've had some MDF bookshelves and it didn't react well to screws, that's why I ask. Do you need to seal it?

Hiya Jason.

Only a few detail bits were MDF bro. The main body is timber and the barrel is ABS pipe with styrene ribs.

I've shortened the barrel and body AGAIN as I didn't think it looked in proportion as a pistol.

Just waiting for the OK from the guy who is buying them, then I'll make the other one.

The first cannon is done ( apart from re-weathering ).

The LED array, battery and switch are fitted and worked first time. It looks a bit orange in the photo below, but I assure you it's very red. The opaque panel diffuses the LED's so that they don't just look like 4 pinpricks of light. I'm fairly pleased.

Now to weather it and start on it's twin brother.

The second pistol is well under way.

Main sections of the body/grip are done apart from a few greeblies.

Just the barrel and paint o go, then I can weather them both.
