Hi all,

as some of you have seen, I am making a Captain America Shield to display in my office.

I thought it would be cool to make a cowl to display with it like the Sideshow scaled display.

Anyway, I really liked the design of the sideshow piece as it looked more like a leather helmet and gave the cowl a real world grounding in my opinion.

The only think I didnt like was there was no chin piece so i have added that to my design.
The cowl is now finished and im currently working on the "A" and the winged ears which ill add separatly.

heres the pics

thats awesome! is that latex? love the leather look to it! can wait to see the finished piece.

thanks guys,

its not latex, its urethane. i have a buddy coming round monday so ill stick it on him and snap some pics

hello fettstar what is the brand of urathane you used on this and do you just paint it in or slush it? it looks great.

Dude!

Fettster, that looks killer! I would love to see it painted to look as though there is just a hint of brown where the "stitching" is... making it look like leather painted/dyed blue. If you catch what I'm saying?

I hope the movie cap looks along these lines! Can't wait to see the finished display!

I definitely love the design of this! Very much like I would imagine Cap wearing in real life. Nice work! :thumbsup

thanks guys, its a fun project.

Jon, the urethane i use is mould flex 50 from mouldlife, its a combination of brushed and poured

that looks great! I'm looking forward to seeing some pics with the wings and A and of course worn on somebody's head :p

Lovely looking design Rich mate. going to look brilliant when done. just an idea for the "a" why not get a piece of relativley thin leather, cut the a out of that then mould it. would save on sculpting it and would have a nice leather texture too. well done... the sheild is looking superb too.
