Captain America Costume Challenge, W.I.P.

Awesome get from my trip to the store, a pair of youth lacrosse pads on clearance for $3.97!!

Glove choices. Its hard to narrow it down any further because I like each pair for their own reasons and I think they could all fit into the design. Leaning toward the red leather gloves for the simple fact that they closely match the red I've been using so far. And now....



!!!!

Love it. Love it. Love it. It's exactly how I pictured it and it's only going to get better from here. (The panel is slightly smaller than the original but oh well.)

Right? There's something about it that just doesn't work. I'm moving on without it, and here's what I got:



I've got some all purpose adhesive to apply the star, which is 3D printed from shapeways.com, and there's these colored zip ties at our office that I'm going to use to break up the white elastic band, continuing the Red/White/Red/White/Red pattern around the waist. Thoughts?

Aside from a couple of adjustments, like to the overall fit of some aspects, the vest is.... DONE!!

I haven't been working on the costume much but I've got the "boots" all set today!! I wish I didn't beat them up so much out hiking last summer but they're still plenty good enough. Over time it'll all get beaten up and battle worn/weathered by time itself.
