If only I had a million bucks to spend... that Mk2 suit, Cap hero costume, and motorcycle would look amazing in my house :)

    Only 4 shields for sale?

That's disappointing. Looks like they are trying to get tons.of money for the 4 because they have about 50 shields in their possession.

Plus one hydra costume? They have about 200 in stock.

Here is a photo for RPF members from inside the catalog before it is released. As of this post, the PDF is not online at PIH or anywhere else.

A few more before photos before the PDF is up can be found right now at MoviePropCollectors.com

Math is not my best subject but I think I saw about 11 shields, not 4, if you include the costumes with shields. There appears to be 6 Hydra soldier costumes, not 1. If you count the Dr. Zola Hydra costumes then that would be 9 or 10 I think. The one with the flamethrower is cool, as are the Hydra vehicles and weapons.

I really like how PIH and Marvel grouped together complete costumes with all of the elements instead of breaking them up in components .

Forgot to mention I was pleasantly surprised they have the Iron Man Mark 2 full autopsy costume . I don't believe anything like it has ever been offered to the public for auction.

Sounds like Marvel wanted to do something special for the fans by giving it to PIH for the auction. :thumbsup

I agree! I'm happy that Marvel's doing this.

I would totally beg the winner of the Captain America suit to take hi-res photos and measurements of everything haha!

Good luck to anyone joining the auction! Hope you guys get what you want :)

Special for the fans by putting it in an auction????

Maybe they could have cut it up and given it to us as collectors cards.

Uh...no...that violates everything I have ever thought about stuff.

But seriously....there were 150 Hydra costumes made....thats a quote from the costume designer....

We have it on record that they had 50 or so shields...including the one on ebay now.

There were 100's of comic books made for the USO song sequence. We get one comic book.

Surely there was alot of room here to service the fans with multiple lots.....

That would have made the difference, but I do agree that putting items together was the right thing to do.

Maybe Marvel has plans to re-use some of these items for a future movie? Or for their archive?

I received the Captain America catalog yesterday. The catalog is extremely well done and I couldn't put it down for a couple of hours! A great mix of items from Marvel and PIH did a fantastic job of assembling the them into some great reading/viewing material.

If I don't win anything from the auction, I will be happy just having the catalog!

I've always had a positive experience with Profiles, glad to see they're running this one.
I made an appointment a couple of days ago to view the collection when I'm out in SoCal later this month.

    I think I NEED a Hydra suit!

What was pulled? Boy I hate it when they do that!

Also, I suppose everyone noticed that the promo shield on ebay went for $20,100. What does that say about the chances of 'normal people' getting much of anything in the Profiles auction?

The cheapest thing they have is one of the cheesy plastic shields starting at like $200 I think. normal people couldn't touch the action IMHO.

Am I off base in thinking that they are asking too much for some of the minor props? Like $100 for the peanut packets from the expo? Or $400 for posters in the background?

    Full review....videos...photos...at thepropstop.

Here is a photo of the room!

First up I love auctions. They are a great place to network with others, watch people and learn new strategies.

They are also annoying, slow, boring and frustrating if your not into the items or the underbidder. After winning four lots out of 219 clearly I’m in the first category.

As I have said in posts and interviews this auction was all about the shields and i think blinded people to the other wonderful lots. Also without a shadow of a doubt if your spending money at an event you really must go to the pre-sale viewing. For instance this shield was much nicer in real life….of course its the trash can lid but it showed much nicer in person….as did the taxi door which was very cool in person.

The other nice shield was the one with the USO damaged leather jacket outfit. Probably the nicest version of that one too.

Lots that I initially pooh pooed looked amazing in person…sometimes the fabric just doesn’t photograph well or in the case of the mace from Thor just looked so much better in real life!

Profiles in history rocked C2E2 with a gorgeous display of bikes, props and costumes. As has been reported the safety and logistics prevented the Hydra tank from appearing but it didn’t matter. Various staff members were on hand to help people with questions and show the props off to convention attendees at C2E2.

Another great addition was a representative of Box bros shipping company that really helped customers decide on what items they could potentially have shipped. Fong Sam of Profiles said that the bikes were palatalized for the event so that will save some potential buyers a great deal of money.

Many props looked much more impressive in person. For instance I nearly won a Hydra cycle purely because they looked so nice in person! I’m sure the cost on these vehicles for production were substantially more than the cost to own at the auction!

The two comics raffles were completed with One of the winners coming in the room about 10 minutes into the sale. Thanks for taking the time to chat Linda…the winner.

Then the auction began and the auctioneer did a great job of keeping things moving, even though the bids online did slow things down occasionally. All in all it worked really well.

One small group of three at the front of the room were doing very well….two Hydra bikes, a Harley, the tank….the list went on. I called them the “Terminators”….because if they wanted it….they sure got it!

The shields clearly took a lions share of the attention. So many smaller lots seemed to go to my mind for very reasonable prices. A discussion on prices is kind of pointless but I feel the howling commando costumes went really cheap, as did a majority of the weapon type items. Red skull props went high…Hugo Weaving’s costumes seemed very expensive…. as did the Hydra guards with rifles…which seemed to almost all sell to one buyer.

Other items like The motorbikes went cheap..the hydra bikes two of which sold to one bidder in the room.

Some attendees who seemed like new entrants to prop collecting won a few items. One girl dressed as Thor tried to win several of the props from the Ken Branagh directed movie and eventually won the final lot of the day. We all clapped for her!

Another gentleman dressed as USO rescue Captain America reportedly really wanted the monkey drawing notebook and sadly was outbid. I think we felt sorry for him because he was clearly a fan and his costume very, very close to the original one!

So what were some of the bargains I have been asked. Okay…get ready to weep.

Well since you asked nicely here is one of them. Considering the other items prices I was very pleased to win something actually used by The Red Skull....aka Mr Weaving.

I fully agree with Tardis' description of the auction.

This was my first auction ever, so it was a huge help that it was run so well. I managed to get Dr. Zola's Monitor, which actually surprised the heck out of me as it went way quicker than I thought.

In talking with some of the guys from PiH, it appears Marvel had originally given them a *ton* of stuff, but they filtered it down to only things they could conclusively prove were screen used. I think that's part of the reason we didn't see 200 shields and hydra uniforms.

Now that the initial shock has worn off I can't wait to get my monitor and set it up on display in my apartment!

Well I'll tell you the truth and I'm sure Profiles wouldn't mind me saying this since it was said in public.

Marvel sent them the stuff. It was Joe we can thank for asking them to put the lots together with weapons etc. Apparently after production all the stuff was thrown into big bins and sorted later, so many of the things like guns etc. could have been used by anyone on production.

Some of the stuff was probably in better condition than others. They did us a favor by sorting thru the items and making them complete and not mixing distressed with good condition stuff. Apparently all the stuff is tagged too, and certainly I saw names in boots so the costumes probably do as well.

I also based my buying on some of the costume cards. They did cut real costumes up to make them.

I got the flashlight lot. But was a little surprised to find out the shipping invoice on them . 68$ shipping for 2 flashlights...... Would of rather pay'd the ILL state tax. Otherwise the auction was a blast.... Joe and the crew from profiles were top notch and very friendly... Hope they bring back a auction in the future.

It was a blast watching it on the net from the UK. Stayed up til 4am and bid on a few bits. Didn't win anything though.
The lots were ideal for such a high class operation. They should run a 'seconds' auction of the other lots. Damaged? So what. No certificate? Who cares. Plenty of people will want to bid on it regardless.

Worse, those bags went for nearly $400 (probably close to $500 by the time you add-in PIH's % plus S/H).

Everything I was interested in went for a good 4X over the estimate.

    Oh well ...
