Captain America 3D bluray

Watching my CA 3D bluray last night, I noticed that it seemed awfully grainy, especially in the dark scenes and also in the opening scene when Red Skull gets his beginning. And it seems to be more of a digital grain and not film grain.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is it supposed to be like that or is there a problem with the disc?

Well, I don't have it so I can't comment first hand, but it's highly unlikely that it's just YOUR disc.

Thinking about the 3d conversion process, it might require/result in the loss of some grain which they would have to replace after the fact. Happens a lot in visual effects, as I understand. The original film grain is removed and a uniform grain is added on top. If the process of making the image for the "second eye" removed any of the grain, they'd want to get it back in that way.

Just a theory.
