I didn't like how the red eye would stop and "focus" instead of the constant waving from one side to the other.

Yeah well, remember it's a prototype so they have to make it look not so "streamlined" and smooth. Besides that, I think it is better as it looks like the cylon is fixed on a particular subject. Given it's a battle unit, being able to fixate on a target is a good thing. The original series cylon eye moving constantly would be a limitation of the 70s/80s tech used to create it. Also this is Zoe, so she is doing what people do and looking "at" something or someone.

The first two episodes were released on DVD Months before the show aired. Right after the finale of BSG. As a teaser or test to see if there was interst in the new show.

I haven't gone back to double check, but I'd swear that in last episode when mom and pop Graystone are making out in front of Cylon Zoey, it intentionally looks away. If I'm right, it was pretty funny.

That's a pretty sweet Cylon!

And if anyone is looking for this series, "Caprica" is available On Demand via Comcast TV Series if you have it...

So far, all 3 episodes (the pilot was split into a two-parter) are available on Hulu. You can check it here: http://www.hulu.com/caprica

As for the eye focusing thing, it's primarily because of the personality within the body. If you recall when the U-87 followed its programming during the exercise presentation for the military prime minister, the eye was moving back and forth normally as it is scanning, possibly for targets. I think that since Zoey is inside the U-87, her field of view is primarily more about what she is focused on (like a normal human) that everything around her like the Cylon.

And yes, she intentionally looked away, because the last thing she wanted to see was her parents frakkin' in front of her.

It is a beautiful piece of work. Reminiscent of the detail in the Terminators but slightly more "steampunk" looking, though I do like the smoother battle Cylons in the newer BSG too. I look forward to a 10" or 18" action figure of it like the T-RIP that I have. I suppose it's what a Centurian from the old series looked like with the armour plate removed.

Actually, this is meant to be a prototype to the TOS-style Centurions in the RIS BSG universe. "Razor" features the Centurions of the TOS-style in both Adama's flashbacks and "the Guardians", the protector of the old school Centurions' attempt at making a hybrid. The designs between the U-87 and the Centurions featured in "Razor" are slightly different, like any prototype and production line model.
