There a bit more detail to the back.
The brackets are fixed to an outer ring.
The belts are attached with several clips/ bolts/ etc

It’s actually not stamped.
The brackets and ring are a separate spun piece made to fit the back of the shield

This is the problem I always run into on producing projects with non prop people. That is a picture of the real shield on display from the movie and exactly what people are wanting replicated. It doesn't matter what anythings thinks would look as good or not. I mean no disrespect to you by any means but at the price point people would like an exact replica of the movie shield, not an artistic rendition.

I think we should be happy we found a capable machinist who's willing to take on the custom project and not bash them for giving some ideas just because they're not "prop guys"...

chiefmachining I have a Chris Fields custom shield (the best custom version out there besides RelicMaker) that I could bring in for closer inspection if you think it would help you out.

Well this one is based on 24" diameter I believe, so it would really be better for just a visual of how it was constructed since it's not the spec this new shield is set to be.
