Can you see this ? Yamato 2199

Now if they'd stop rebooting Ghost in the shell (apparently they're doing it again instead of season 3 of stand alone complex) and Appleseed: instead of the 3rd cgi movie they gave us a show which seems to be a total reboot using the cgi models from the last movie.

Saw the live action + anime remade awhile back (following the anime currently).

Brings back lots of memories :)

That was a 1974. I was a high school student in 1st grade.
The TV show was really a sensation for the boy like me.
I'm not that big fan anymore but yes, It's reminds me many things.

The anime of Yamato 2199? Subtitled or dubbed?

I absolutely LOVED the live action Yamato movie, even though the the version I watched didn't have subtitles...

I'm looking forward to Captain Harlock:
Space Pirate Captain Harlock Official Trailer #1 (2013) - Rintaro Movie HD - YouTube
(Brief nudity, otherwise I'd display the trailer rather than just linking it.)

I am going to NEED to have this when its available

I found a website through google playing the 2199 episodes with subtitles. 14 episodes so far and at least 6 more this season.

Loving it, as I grew up with the original. (Although it was called Star Blazers if I remember correctly)

I hope the show continues for a good long time.

For us watching in North America it was. I loved that show too. My friends and I used to sing "Our Star Blazers!" while walking on the way to school!

The remake looks gorgeous!

Haha, that bird is called Tori-san(Birdy) . It often appeared in some other anime works of Leiji Matsumoto.
It's the heroe's cynical mascot.

I´ll have to look for that bird in my personal favorite, "Captain Future", which seems to be almost unknown in the U.S. and current japanese fans don´t seem to care about it either. Over here in EUrope, specifically Germany, France, Belgium and Italy, it was a huge hit and still has a huge fan following. I´ll have to catch a few eps of Yamato.

Wow! DaddyfromNaboo-san!! I'm so glad to know you are stopping by.
Yeah, very few person here knows about the Captain Future. I had read that novels for more than 40 years ago. There was the TV anime show on 1978.
I was a fan of Simon Wright.

Hoping all the best things happen to you and your family,
Katsu
