Can you ID this ST:TOS tricorder replica?

Hello, experts.

Anyone know who made this tricorder? It also has a medical hand scanner, of which I do not have a picture.

Many thanks!

Rick

OR of a Old Jim Kirk model, the fat door and lack of inside door covers and thin side plates are ear marks of a Jim Kirk model.

And if I am seeing what I think I am seeing, (small picture) Jim had a tin bar on top of the disk/drum, (behind the small door) a feature later learned was wrong.

I have searched and searched in vain on the web for a comprehensive side-by-side comparison of tricorder replicas. MR compared to Roddenberry compared to Marco, etc.

Anyone know of any site that has this kind of info?

Many thanks!

Rick

Rich,

Thanks for the link. Very interesting info.

But - perhaps out of fear of copyright violation reprisals or out of respect for their privacy or to avoid sending business their way- there's no real mention of who made what. JTKirk, Marco, etc. And there's no info on the MR or Rod trics. Certainly the one I pictured in my post is absent.

Still looking for more comparative info or better ID on the tric in my post. Anyone? Ideas about how much it would be worth?

Thanks so much!

Rick

Yes we changed the names to protect the guilty...

The one on the page looks very much like your...

Jim sold kits so many were built by the buyers in their own ways.

I firmly think that is what you have.

My 2 cents worth.

I agree with Rich, definately an old Kirk kit. I've had quite a few over the years and this one has the same tells. Also, I believe at one time Marco got his trics from Kirk.

Thanks for all the input, folks! I was hoping you'd chime in, Micdavis! :lol

So these just sold as kits, or built up also? Any opinions about what something like this might be worth, if anything? I suppose it really depends on how well the builder did with the kit...

My gratitude for all your insights!

Jim sold both, kits and buildups and yes Marco and even I bought a few from God Old Jim...

Worth, what ever the market will bare...

Problem is without knowing who built it...

Very helpful info. I greatly appreciate it! And while I have the chance, let me take a moment to say how much I admire your work, Rich.

Cheers.
