Can I “paint” hard urethane over soft urethane to stiffen for display?

I have a cowl I will never be wearing that’s cast in a softer urethane. Can I paint hard urethane resin on the inside to stiffen it up for display? I want to keep the face open thus do not want to use a bust to display it

You should be able to do that. You may want to put some filler in the resin to thicken it if it is watery thin. That way you can build up a thicker layer that will support your mask without it running all over the place.
It may or may not adhere to your mask very well. Urethanes usually stick pretty well, but your cowl has been cured for a while, and may have oils/dirt that would inhibit adhesion. But then again, that might make it easier if you ever want to remove the rigid core.

I'd actually spray release agent inside so you can remove the rigid plug. That way it free stands and is still wearable.
