Can anyone identify this Stormtrooper Helmet?

It's that kind of blind support that makes me feel even more like my decision to stop sharing helmets/armor (or upcoming ones) with the community was the right one.

Every time I start to think maybe it's not so bad to share, something like this comes along and slaps some sense into me.

This seems to turning into another recsating debate. I just wanted to see if anyone could help me to identify a helmet I bought a while back, not to have a lengthy debate on who's right and who's wrong or has what and who doesn't! I think we all pretty much covered that a couple of days ago.

Very interesting topic here. I also thought TM's was a fan sculpt?

Just to go O.T for a sec.

Gino, don't stop sharing what you have. Yours is considered the best lid out there. And i, for one, would love to own one one day.

I didn't know it was recast when I bought it as I am no expert on what is recast and what isn't. But I am learning day by day thanks to an incredibly knowledgeable bunch of people.:love
And I second what Neil says
Gino, Don't stop sharing
. I have never had the fortune to own anything you have put out , but unfortunately judging from your comments towards me I doubt I ever will.:(

I apologise then i just read it wrong it was the following statements that confused me.

Whilst I am aware that this is probably a recast but I thought it had been done rather well and bought it anyway

I read that as you thought it was a recast prior to buying it.

I pretty much knew it was a recast but I think he has done an outstanding job on it anyway.

I think so too.

I also have to say that is pretty difficult to buy a helmet these days which is surely not recast from anybody. Its f.... confusing for non experts to know which is recast and which is not. Also the opinions differs too much. One says this.....another one something else. Who on earth should know which opinion is right?

I know it's hard for some people to believe because he's such a 'nice guy', but it is true.
So many people have recast this helmet I'm pretty sure people stopped getting banned for it, so why not just call it for what it is.

It would be like me having someone's raiders idol cast, then showing my version off (which shows only some slight modifications) and then saying, "Oh no, I didn't recast it, I just used it for reference to sculpt my own so I could sell them freely. I'd never sell copies of yours. My sculpting abilities are so good, it's just like I'm a 3-d xerox machine."
Gimme a friggin break.

Well the reason someone would come up with that story is to avoid the whole "recaster" label so they could openly show off and sell their stuff to the forums. And look, it worked.
Adding confusion to the whole situation, he actually did start out sculpting from scratch, but then when his desire for accuracy became greater, and he knew the only way to attain a certain level of accuracy was to use a recast, he abandoned his scratch sculpts.
People remember the super early photos showing his scratch sculpts, which is why they are all so willing to believe what they see now are still his scratch builds which they are not.

At this point, it's clear that recasting trooper helmets is unfortunately no longer considered a ban-able offense and I'm not pushing for any kind of punishment.

I just want everyone to stop fooling themselves with this charade.

Again, if you think it is just me having an axe to grind with Paul, that's not it at all. This is the ONLY axe I have to grind with him and has been from the beginning.

Both Jez and Braks will tell you that this is at the very least a recast faceplate, but I feel very confident it is the whole thing.

So what to buy if you want an accurate helmet which isnt recasted???
Also there are enough people who have another opinion.

AP or TE2

And those people you mention have just been misled whether they know it or not, or whether they WANT to believe it or not.

Sorry. Personally I'm not in it for the person. I use my eyes and I see some structurally different things with the TM that would simply not make sense to make and at the same time add other accurate details that aren't in other "cast from screen used" casts.

Maybe I'm just naive, I'll give you that - but I generally trust someone until proven wrong. I haven't studied one in the flesh, but from the pictures I've seen there are shapes that don't add up - close but no cigar - and why change those yet add others?

Where's this smoking gun you claim is there? And if you aren't in it for some punishment... then why mention it? Defamation of character IS punishment, if it is false.

You and I share the same views on recasting, you know that. But I find it hard to accept that you can just scream re-caster and just walk away without proving it.

Yes, I think TM is a nice guy and has helped me a great deal with info on my own helmets - not his fault that I'm a fumbling idiot at assembly and trimming. And I would think it is sad and unfortunate if he recast a helmet to make his offering, but I just don't see that. That's not blind support, because I did look and didn't see what you see.
