Can anyone identify this Stormtrooper Helmet?

Gino is THE MAN when it comes to these trooper helmets -- I don't even like Star Wars but I would LOVE to own one of his some day.

Michelangelo couldn't have re-sculpted that close of a faceplate.

How incredibly wrong you are!!! :confused Michelangelo was a GENIUS!! He was a sculpting master!! He NEVER recast someone elses work! He made all his own works, and out of MARBLE - not a plastic resin! He was commissioned to paint the Sistine chapel - how many of us can make that claim!!! A hundred years from now noone will even remember anyone on this board,or even care, except maybe distant relatives! :unsure Everyone will always know who Michelangelo was!!:cool

For some who still remain skeptical, here something for you to chew on.

Here's a comparison of the TM, screen used Brian R. and one of my helmets. Of course, not all at the exact same angle, but sufficient for this demonstration.
There's a little bump (one of many) found on the Brian R (which is the mother of all screen used ANH helmet derivatives) that can clearly be seen on my helmet.

You can also see this bump on the TM.
How could this be if his was sculpted from scratch?
His has been heavily cleaned up, sanded, modified, but you can still see what's left of that detail on his that hasn't been totally removed.

Dude.........You ARE TRULY on the WRONG forum! Just take a look at the forums' banner at the top of the screen if you don't believe me! :unsure
Newbie you should stick to why you are here, and not concern yourself with why anyone else is here. This is a PROP forum, not a STAR WARS prop forum. Jet Beetle has been a member here since 2001, and IMO is a valued member. I can't say the same for you yet.

I checked my TM earlier and thought the vocoder was a lot sharper than some of the other lids in my collection. I have noticed the bump GINO mentioned on mine too.

I think that what Gino is saying is that most people who try to sculpt their own buckets, have their own results that do not match identically blip for blip imperfections.

I am gearing up to sculpt my first ANH helmet, and I'm looking forward to all the input I'll get from people like Gino, because when all is said and done, you want your stuff to stand out and be perceived as all new, original and not ripped off from people like Gino, and other creators who have been recasting other people's stuff.

Thanks for that Scarf Man -

This place is the greatest museum and data base on the internet. I will admit I have no love for Star Wars, but I do LOVE reading the threads here filled with info about how things were made for the film. When someone puts up a showoff thread or a FOUND ITEM post - I read them no matter how long they are. The people on this board are infectious when it comes to their passion about detail concerning props, costumes, sculpts, models, reproduction wallets and glasses - there is absolutely nothing the people on the board cannot reproduce down to the tiniest crack or scuff - and that is why I can appreciate the items from movies I don't even like. I'm amazed at the talent found here and the ones who have it should be working on every Hollywood production being made. When Gino shows off one of his masterpieces, you better believe I click those threads and marvel at his hand. I am schooled in just how good something can turn out. And that is what has and always will keep me coming here.

plus I buy suff.:p

Gino - That bump you have found is making me feel uneasy about our prior discussions. Good eye dude

That is interesting.

Why don't you show all the evidence that you have?

What you have shown is hardly conclusive at all. Surely TM would have used TE helmets as references, we all know his knowledge is excellent.

He might have included that on purpose.

As usual you are attacking without solid evidence :rolleyes

Joe

Just for info....are TE 2 helmets the same as TE helmets? Have thought TE sold the molds to another guy who named them TE 2 helmets :confused

Hey Niob!:)

Maybe : TE2 bought the molds fair and square while TE does not? :confused This is the assumptions that i had
I can be 100% wrong though, and i put that as a maybe for someone to correct my point of view:angel

Darth Niob -No, because he was answering what you would seek if you wanted to get a current helmet from an original source.
TE wasn't listed because there are no TE helmets being made anymore. They are TE2. I suppose if you wanted to list previous helmet sources, then yes you would include TE.

Pappy - No, the TE and TE2 molds are the same. They simply changed hands, so finding a currently produced helmet would lead you to a TE2. The TE line was retired when TE2 was founded. They are the same product from the same molds, just by a different owner.
