Can anyone identify this part (Expanse space helemet)?

Trying to id this part (the round 'socket' the hose plugs into with the 'fronds'). It's probably about an inch diameter.

It looks maddeningly familiar, but I can't put my finger on it?

Is it 1” at the hose or the base? Any slightly further way pics so I can get a gauge on what the whole thing it’s connected too looks like?

What I think it is is a simple copper or brass street elbow with the threads cut off. The base I think is a separate part/shroud.

Yeah, it's the lower part I'm looking for

Looks like a top part to a water filter replacement like a Brita or something like that.

My guess is it’s plastic not metal.

It reminded me of some kind of detergent ball. I could swear I saw one years ago that had a grill just like that – it was a solid sphere aside from one end with the vents in it.

I’ve also seen magnetic sink drain covers with similar characteristics and hair catchers for drains. Ignore the cute animals lol

Initially I thought it was a sink drain too, but I think the LED heat sink is the best bet.
