Camberwick Green and Trumpton

finally got some wire for the doctor's armature! in the meantime, I've used a small excess piece to finally make the car's hand crank.View attachment 1705070
I am having a bit of a struggle with attaching the crank however, I'd like it be rather well stuck on but I don't want to glue it, and blue tack isn't really cutting it. anyone have any ideas?
Couldn't you fit a magnet behind the black cover? Since it seems that the crank is metal...that "might" work:unsure:;)

not really, since i can’t actually get inside the thing. it’s about 65 years old now, and instead of using screws, has small tabs of metal folded over tightly. i don’t want to risk ruining the car trying to open it!

Done another one. Mrs. Cobbit, the Trumpton flower seller. At the town Hall Square prompt at 9 every morning (except when the ceiling fell on her!).

just grand!! i’ve now also gotten some ping pong balls for dr mopp’s head, i’m planning to sculpt his features on with clay. something else very interesting happened in these last few weeks too, in that out of the blue someone uploaded some episodes of gordon murray’s long lost later series ‘rubovia’ to youtube https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxzWXH93OG6avcCzbtACp5_78VCEPXt2C
in my opinion nothing beats the trilogy, but they’re certainly worth a watch!!

It wasn't her best day, branch hit her roof and she was late to the Town Hall to discover that the Ice Cream Man had stolen her pitch! Ended well thankfully.

by the way, if you wouldn’t mind, could i get a quick measurement in mm of how long farmer bell’s forklift is from front to back? (for the purposes of 3d modelling because i’m rather bored)

155mm from rear bumper to vertical rails. The fork mechanism is about 60mm beyond that.
thank you kindly! i should probably also ask how wide it is (there aren’t any photos directly from the front that i’m able to find)

Those are absolutely fantastic! I was born a decade and a half too late to see the original airings of Camberwick Green/Trumpton, but I remember watching the repeats in the early 80's.

This Radiohead video from a few years ago is another good example of their lasting influence on British culture.

Me too, but I think that the Belgian T.V. showed the episodes a little later ('69, if I remember well).

i sometimes feel like i clog up this forum with a bunch of random non-prop related nonsense so here’s something that is prop related!!
i don’t remember if i’ve mentioned it before, but i think i’ve figured out some of the bits and pieces used for mickey murphy’s van. the chassis appears to be the exact same as farmer bell’s truck, and i think the grill could have come off of something but i’m not sure. is anyone able to make a guess at what that teeny tiny writing on it says?

(i also got lucky at an antique fair today and found a complete set of the “camberwick green tv lotto” game, which i’ve taken some of the pictures from!)

Yes, I think some of the bits of that van ought to be found items. The Triang truck that farmer Bell drives can still be found.

yes, i’ve seen a few listings before, but i’ve always passed them by. it’s a bit too big for how much space i’ve got!
