thanks! i think i'll pick up bits and pieces for dr mopp next time i'm at the craft store. is there any specific size of ping pong ball used for the heads? do ping pong balls even come in different sizes?

I don't use ping pong balls for the heads, I use wooden balls (craft shops sell them or I get them online). I use 3.5cm diameter. I only use them because they go well with the wooden mannequins and they are a good surface to sculpt details onto. I think the originals might've used ping pong balls?

i recently watched another anderson production called “the secret service” as well. very strange, but has a charm to it!

and then there’s times when it’s so realistic that it’s not puppets at all it’s just straight up the actual stanley unwin-
i’ll never understand why they put that shot of him in the intro, they literally filmed the shot with the puppet but just never used it

not related to the doctor, but it is one hell of an update; i've spotted a very cheap listing for the fire engine, so we'll see how that goes ;]

i’ve not made any progress on the doctor or that fire engine, but here’s something interesting i’ve just discovered.
there are two different windy millers! if i’m not mistaken, the second one was made specifically for shots where he’s riding his trike.
