On C-3pos neck he has 2 perforated looking rings. Its sort of looks like the surface of a zip tie. He also has these details around his wrists.

My C-3po is looking good but lacks these details. I was thinking maybe brass etching might work? I was at a model trains shop and they had some nice parts. I need a thin strip I can glue around the pieces I have.

I might try to mold a zip tie and see how that looks. I don’t think I can use a zip tie itself. Becasue I’m not sure how well the vacuum metalizing would attach to the slick surface.

Any suggestions?

That’s called knurling. It’s machined into metal on a lathe. No doubt this was a metal part at one time at ILM. You can have a new neck ring machined or find a way to add a strip of plastruct around the one you have now.
