Buildup AT-ST ROTJ (INSTRUCTIONS ADDED!)

Will do, ill get to it soon! One thing does spring to mind though, weight.
Theres a lot of resin in Steves walker head, itll weigh a lot more than mine, so just keep that in mind.
That said, my joint was a little limp, but a tiny dab of CA in there and left to dry, then move it, youll find the joint stiff as hell then, so it still may work!
Another thing, the boot, im not sure what its made from, or how much support it could add, but if its rubber and substantial, that may help the head not wobbling around too much!

Thomas i think there all pretty universal, we have a ton here as the kids love Bionicles, theye were pretty happy they could help me out of a jam with a model though lol.
Its made up of a ball, a socket (used for a shoulder) and one of the technic rods!

Does anyone here think the head should be filled to re-enforce and strengthen it? (assuming one will not make a 'cockpit') And if so, with what?

Nope... the head is pretty sturdy. Don't think it needs any reinforcement... but that's just me. Brass rods/tubes for the legs, however, I think are required, IMHO.

*EDIT* I assume you were talking bout the ROTJ version?

Id say just check the cast on the head and go from there, if it does look thin, plate it with styrene.
My TESB head has a mega thin sidewall, i thought this would be cool till i tried to clean out the clag in the dome rivets with my pin vise lol, whoops, pinhole on one of them lol.
Thought was done with filler on the head, but sadly not hehe!

I don't think the head needs to be strengthened. Mine's pretty sturdy.

Went to the toystore today and bought a simple Bionicle. There are a lot of joints on this one. I chose a leg joint, strengthened it with some superglue and it works perfect!

Thanks Lee for this great idea!

Onto attaching the legs to the body :D

Woohooo, lol Thomas im glad it worked out buddy, simple huh? Most effective though, one could have spent hours working up a balljoint or whatever lol.
Look forward to your progress!

bests.....lee

I think he means through the center of the joints were the part's are glued together! Not inside each leg part. Hope that helps.

First I'd like to once again thank Greg Watson of Blockhead Pictures for hosting the instructions on his server, thanks Greg!

Hi,

First post noob...

I just got the awesome ESB version of the AT-ST and would like to know if using the ROTJ instructions will help me build it. Since there's such a lack of reference for this version it would help a lot to have some kind of guide. Does anyone else have any trouble with their ESB build, or can you provide picks of one to help with parts location? Any help would be appreciated.

you could try downloading the ESB ATST instructions:

Anyone have any idea where these parts go? No mention of them in the instructions. I know the block is supposed to go in the back for the option to have it held from the back, but do you just leave that spot open if you don't do that option?
