Your welcome. Why the different colors of plex?;):lol
This thing is looking great Julian! And I thought the parts looked big individually.:eek

Re: Building the 8' Star Destroyer

Hurry up & find a house J mate, if you keep going then this thing will get damn big very soon. I'd hate to see it on display outside the house. :lol

Re: Building the 8' Star Destroyer

Just remember - don't make it too big to not fit through the doors or windows :)

Re: Building the 8' Star Destroyer

I've been studying this thread; trying to build my own 3' version soon and this compares to Sculpting a Galaxy in terms of education :wacko
Can I ask one thing?(didn't see, sorry if it has been covered) What is the degree of angle at the mid-point on the upper and lower main body? Is it consistent with that of the tower/structures beneath the bridge?
Awesome work, will be watching.
JJ

Julien your work is truly amazing. Are sure your not some old builder from ILM back then :lol

:lol I should ask you why !!

Jumpin Jax, I dont know the value of the angle but I can send you a drawing of one of the bulkhead. I think the angle is different on the 3' though !

Guy, Scott, dont worry for the room ;)

Thank you all. :)

I built the port "boxes" and Ive started to detail the hero side.

This is the fun part. I know the RC kit is no comparison to what is going on in this project, but when I started bashing kits for the side details on my own RC SD it was the most fun part of the entire thing. I can't believe how cool this thing is.

Dave :)

Re: Building the 8' Star Destroyer

This is just outstanding Julien. Builds like this, the Death Star by PC the Galacticas & Lasse's Blockade Runner are just the impossible dreams. Its so inspiring to see people making them come true. :eek

Re: Building the 8' Star Destroyer

Thank you guys,

Dave, I know that working on a smaller ISD is also a huge job ! I remember I was spending about 2 hours to detail 2 cm on my 41" ISD so I trust you ! You're right, that's really the fun part !

I'm working slowly because Im ID'ing the parts at the same time I detail the plexi parts. Unlike the bridge, I havent do a part map before the detailling process... But it's quite fun, I have hundred of kit sprues all over me and I pick up one to see what I can find, it works well !

That's where I am tonight :
