Hello all,
I'm new to prop making but I've been lurking the forums here for a little over a year now. I've been working in my spare time to create a vacuum forming table as I'd like to build a set of stormtrooper armor for display in my office. (And random trooping here and there)
My question concerns obtaining a mold to form from. I see alot of people on here create theirs from plaster or clay but I have a friend that can do cnc work for a decent rate and wondered if finding somewhere to buy a cad drawing of the armor and having it cut from mdf to make a mold would be viable. I'm sure at the cost of all of this I would be off just as cheap buying a set but something about making it myself seems more fulfilling. Plus I then have the option to make sets for friends down the road.
Thanks in advance for your help.
