Ok, here is where I am at so far, this is for my son:

I have a few questions for you experts on Iron Man builds.

1. What did you use to be able to attatch / detach the front chin portion from the mask, I have a few ideas but figured I would throw it out there.

2. In the sam vein, what did you use to attatch / detatch the mask plate, I saw someone who had done a hinge and thought that would very cool. I have also seen someone on youtube who motorized his hinge for the mask.

3. Lighting the eyes, any help here would be awesome. He still needs to be able to see though.

Thanks,
Bubba

wow - how long did that take you? i'm still trying to finish war machine for my 3yr old son for halloween! i've done the face plate and the left side of the helm. but no time at the mo (
sorry i can't answer your questions - i'm very very new at this

Ok, the helmet is built, now I am going to fiberglass it. I am not worried about making it look movie quality for him, just sturdy. I would still love to hinge the face plate, I am going to do another search and see what comes up. I am going to use the Pap files and build the rest of the armor out of craft foam so it will be more comfortable for him to wear.

the craft foam is very good. I am doing a suit out of the stuff for me now. I will have it on display by saturday that is where I plan on having it done. Maybe Sunday. You can get it in red big sheets I think like 36inches by 40inches. I did not have the red at the time I started so I covered it with fabric. You can use double sided iron on made by heat and bond to attach the fabric. I use the sewable version so that Where i couldnt glue I could sew. Good luck on this and Hope it works out for you. THat helmet is amazing I am thinking about using that pep file on my next one.
