Re: Hydrate Level 4 Please

I am hoping that after it is painted, this will look quite good.

I have my package graphic ready to take to the printers tomorrow where I will get them to print it on clear. I'll then lay that over foil and laminate it and call it a day.

Re: Hydrate Level 4 Please

A really cool idea for a prop. :thumbsup

One thing I noticed, and I hope you don't mind this feedback Cavx, is that on the real prop (the full-size one at least) the pepperoni pieces were laid out, or lined up, in curved/semicircular rows going around the pie. It looks like they first laid out the curved outer row of pepperoni along the edge, then the next curved row inside that one, etc.

On yours it looks like you laid out your rows going straight across the middle/diameter of the pie.

That said, I can only imagine how hard it would be to be lining up those tiny circles a certain way. :wacko

Thank you for the positive feedback and in fact, all feedback is welcome.

When I first placed them down, I think I did have them follow the edge, but they were not in the right position in relation to the cuts in the crust, so I moved them for gluing and didn't get them back to the same layout. :unsure

The paint was also still a bit wet when I took the photo and now that it has dried, the green pepper looks more green and less teal and the black has come through the red a bit more, so overall, I am quite happy with this project.

I'll take another photo when I get the packaging sorted and one with my other props. I might just give this a light coat of clear (if I have any left) to seal it up.

Aside from what ever cost the printing is today, this prop was a $0.00 outlay which is great considering how I blew the budget twice on the shoes and tube bag :behave

Next will be the Hoverboard :love

UPDATE:

COMPLETE!

Alan's prop is the top image and mine is the other. I didn't do foil thing because when the graphic printed, it had a silver (though it looks white in the photo) background. I also re-sized it and my pizza fits perfectly in the middle of the red ring.

Done and on to the next one - The Hover Board!

Very cool. The only thing I notice is that you are light on the toppings. Alan's seems full of peppers and pepperoni, while you have about half the amount on there.
But still an excellent job :)

Thanks :)

I was being mindful of the screen cap when I laid the topping on.

Part of me wanted to load it up, and I just kept looking at the re-hydrated pizza thinking that it would not work over loading the topping (even though that is part of what makes Alan's look so cool) if I ever decide to make the full sized 15" prop.

I am thinking about it and if I find a decent stainless steel tray, I might just have to make the 15" version as well :)

Nice work. :)

I've just tried to find out the actual size of the mini pizza and made some HD screen grabs. I've set the pizza plate on the following two screen grabs to exactly the same size on screen. If we compare it and if we assume that the large pizza is really 15 inches wide, the plate must be 17.59 inches and the mini pizza is 3.59 inches. Calculate it yourself. Here are the pixel sizes:

Mini pizza: 349 pixels
Large pizza: 1458 pixels
Plate: 1710 pixels

:)

Hey thanks Roland. This makes sense because when I printed out the Pizza packet today, the graphic was about 5" wide on the red ring and I scaled it down to 60% of the original size to fit my replica of this prop.

PS I also made a start on my Hover Board using your awesome graphics :)

Good luck with your Hoverboard build. I hope we will see some pictures of the progress. :)

And for your pizza: here is another helpful image for the correct sizes. I love screenused.com for their images with the rulers next to the props.

And after some reworking (the green circle in the middle is the 3.59 inches pizza):

You will soon enough :) I am just considering my options for the materials for the board itself.

3.59" or or just over 91mm. Hmmm, maybe if I do the 15" version, I'll make the true 1:1 of this again as well.

Any idea what the height (thickness) of the pizza might be?

I'm going to suggest 1/2" for the dehydrated pizza and up to 3/4" for the re-hydrated pizza.

I am so hungry for pizza right now.

Here is one I made from scratch including the base (and why it doesn't quite fill the tray) which I stuffed with cheese and herbs, then loaded with lots of toppings.

I started my dehydrated pizza a few minutes ago....
making six, so if I mess up a few attempts, then I will have backups :)

fingers crossed.
