BTTF Pepsi Bottle : Reboot

So, you make the complete run with vac-formed bottles again?

Nice idea... Does it work to drink something from the bottles?

Maybe you are so friendly and post the ebay link to your bottles, Gary... Thanks...

If and when I go though with the Vac-Tooling I'll see about hollow bottles and possibly some flip top solid bottles.

To be perfectly honest, these look just fine on my shelf and I am in love with how they turned out. I'm content to stop the project right here for now and revisit the aluminum masters when I have more time at a later date.

The bottle set you see here is now on ebay. Link is in the JY.

But what about Dr Pepper 2015? Don't stop now!

I will not be tempted by the Dr Pepper... I will not be tempted by the Dr Pepper. Wife loves it, I can't stand it :)

Here is a new shot of the Clear MD bottle with a coat of acrylic. Its really helped with the clarity of the bottles.

Sorry for the crappy inside pics.

In the realm of custom bottles, I had an interesting request come in. Just what would my pre-production prototype bottle look like "finished"? So I took one of my castings and did this test with decals to match what's on my prototype for the film.

ALL the bottle labels are now printed as Water-Slide labels on my ALPS printer. It is a bad ass little machine that lets me print in metallic silver and white in addition to all my other regular colors.

Perfect for water-slide decals.

I like the look of the water slides as opposed to cut vinyl graphics. CVG's are just too think and bulky on the bottles IMHO. With the water-slides they look like they are printed directly on the bottle.

Not a Pepper? Mr. Pibb or Dr. Thunder then? Well the original is still best.

Like the look of the completed prototype bottle. Not sure why they didn't use it. The design works for me.

Gary, I've wanted to print decals as you are doing, and have read about an Alps printer that prints in white in other groups as well. It looks like I'll have to get one myself. Could you tell me the model number of yours?

Amazing work Gary! I have wanted to get my hands on each of the bottles from the film for such a long time, I am looking forward to seeing your next update.

Nice bottles gary maybe when it's all said and done you can tackle the miller lite bottle ;)

Just wanted to update this thread. I've been out of commission for the last two months or so thanks to A. a broken foot, and then a bout of Vertigo for about a week.

I'm currently finishing up a project run on my own board and then I'll see about getting back onto the bottles.

I'm trying to work out two things. Better labels for the bottles since the Waterslides are not 100% in my opinion - closer to 90%. I have a couple ideas on how to fix it.

The other thing I want to do is add the flip top as an option. I just haven't had time to make the master. Its a few hours work - but I want to get this other project run out of the way first.

I'll post more as I have it.

Thanks,
Gary
