Marty McFly's Skateboard - Valterra Splatter Deck Conversion
Neat you got a real valterra! Where'd you get that? Edit: you might not have gotten the valterra yet but the trucks are popularly known as invader 800s The screen-used boards had Tracker Ex Track trucks, not Invaders. Madrid incorrectly used Invaders on their official replicas—at least in...www.therpf.com
cool thanks you , do you happen to know how accurate the original double splatter decks were to the screen used deck ?Trucks were invader 800
They were the exact same except that the splatter had an an offset double layer in bluecool thanks you , do you happen to know how accurate the original double splatter decks were to the screen used deck ?
ah ok , I've just been a bit confused with hearing the screen used board was concaveThey were the exact same except that the splatter had an an offset double layer in blue
according to the valterra splatter deck thread the deck is concave and was built by MadridI have an original board and they were not concave. Neither was the screen used one as far as I am aware
curve in the middle of the deck not very noticeable but it makes the boards stronger ( so good for stunts even smaller ones like riding on the back of cars ) , and would explain why the decks in the movie are a different shape to the Valterra ones also I saw on the other thread it was a deck built by Madrid painted like a Valterra ( product placement possibly )Concave would means that both ends are raised?

thanks for more info on the board , so would a 1983 pattern concave Madrid board be probably the best shape and size for the deck ? , below is a photo of the screen used board next to a Madrid 1983 deck ( repo but same mould ) feedback would be really appreciatedYes, the board is curved on its length + one kicktail only. Double kicktail were introduced later when skatepark started to close and everybody switched to the street.
supposedly the movie board was built by Madrid tho and repainted , so It had a slight concave as can be seen hereThe board should be flat...from the pics you've posted, this board should do the trick. Btw, you have another thread asking the same kind of questions. That one should be merged with this one here. Mods?
the board is a different shape to a Valterra tho too , also it looks slightly concave hereSometimes I wonder if it's not a lens distortion; If you look at the sole of his shoe on the kicktail, it's flat on the board (as well as the first line of the big decal).![]()
"Looks"the board is a different shape to a Valterra tho too , also it looks slightly concave here
I mean its 80s concave so only really really slight such as on the madrid 1983 explosion deck"Looks"But, in my book, this is not even a mellow concave (you have 3 different concave options on a board, according to what you want to do with it: mellow, medium, steep). The concave design started in the early '80s...and this board doesn't have it.
