Hey,
Does anyone know if Marty Jr. t-shirts are available anywhere? It's white and has something that looks like a grey plus and minus sign.

Hey guys, heres a couple of screen shots!

I am probably wrong, but I always assumed it was like a white gloss print (or clear gloss print)on a plain white T-shirt !?!

This is also from (my bad) memory, but I am pretty sure I remember some other kids wearing a similar T, it might have been a different colour though. Definately a + over a - in a circle though!

What a coincidence that the person in the link you posted also realised it is from BTTF !

It is definitely that design though :thumbsup

You can clearly make out the circle circumference top & bottom encircled in blue, the 'plus' in red, and the 'minus' in black.

Yeah I also noticed the "puffy" white/clear aspect to it. I have a substance here at home that might just give it that same look. I'll have to test it out on a small scale and see if I get that same effect. I might also try to get some better pics. There's an other guy in the movie with the same sign on his shirt only it's green... right when Griff says "keep peddling you two!"

Ok so I made a quick sample already, I got some interesting results but I'm also a little stumped. I used some clear glaze stuff called "Golden Gel Medium" and that's what gave me the best result so far. Now the first picture is what it looks like on the surface, but the second picture is how it looks on the reverse side. "Kids of the future wear their clothes inside out".

Ok now here's the inside out one.

Notice how this way you get the "puffy" look? Well here's what stumps me, it could be something as simple as the pic Roland posted just printed on the shirt and worn by Marty Jr. inside out. However... if you look at the pic above of his shirt collar the seam doesn't look like it's on the outside. So if the pattern were inside out (which is probably the case) then it would have to be printed on the inside of the shirt. (I don't know why anyone would do that...?)

I remember back in the 80's there were printed shorts with "puffy" logos. It was not a very thick printed puffy ink but it looked just like this typpe of shirt printing.

I am wearing a NIKE/AIR shirt right now that has the logo in puff. It is thin and not like the puff paint of the 1980s.

Is it not just a grey or silver silk screened image?

If that was the case, I'd be happy to ask my screen printing guy to make a run of these.

Looking at those last two images, it seems like the top, vertical arm of the 'plus' seems 3D, whilst the horizontal bar and circle seem pretty much on the surface. It also seems odd that the 'corners' of the + seem rounded at the top! I wonder which parts are just a trick of the light?

In the 70's they made this weird foam shirt printing stuff, but it really itches your chest and you can get the same results with multiple coasts of Plastisol or any other oil-based screen printing ink. You could probably make a freezer paper stencil of the design and do 3 coats of Plastisol or silver Speedball ink. I'd recommend Plastisol even though you have to heatset it just 'cause it doesn't crack.

It would be neat to make a more ~cyberpunk~ one that's clear vinyl over silver vinyl sewn to a shirt, but that probably wouldn't be quite as accurate.
