One of the new auction peices contails the tail numbers for the Vipers....Item number: 180326858671. So someone needs to make those now. ;) :p

Oh, I'm working on it! :lol You think the best way is straight up vinyl letters since that's how it looks?

They have another Hall speaker LS-386 up for auction, made of wood and resin. Mcgoob do you have one of these?

This is my little project for the night:
bsg.jpg

I have literally thousands of pieces of scrap paper from my grail diaries, so I decided to put them to some use. I've already made some BSG-style notepads like were sold in the auction, but I thought I'd make this too. This one is just a blank version with nothing on the inside sheets. The cover was very easy to make, but I decided to have some more fun with it. So, I've been editing a real Blackbird manual and adding some Galactica-verse references and images in it to make a more "BSG realistic" manual. Should be a cool little item when it's finished...

Cool here is some screen shots of the blueprints he was using to build it you should have something that in there.

Thanks! I plan on going back and reviewing that episode, so I'll be sure to add diagrams like those into the final manual. :)

Another really cool item, look forward to more pics, and hopefully a junkyard post!

I was thinking... What would be better: a handwritten/drawn version, like what would probably be "written" by Tyrol, or a version like the actual prop, made up of random (typed) manual pages?

I think a handwritten version would be better, but it might be even better if you make different sections in different handwriting. during the episode we saw Dee wiring up the comms system etc, so different people may have written different sections of the manual.

There were a bunch of cool inserts sticking out of the 'hero' manual that sold first in the main auction (various charts and different colored paper).

:thumbsup That's a pretty good idea about having multiple authors of it; like once they finished their work, they wrote up how to use certain components and such. I'm thinking since I've already done some work on the typed version (editing the actual Blackbird manual), I'm going to just make both versions.

Yup, I found some images of the hero too and I'm trying to track down/alter similar star charts and items. Having different inserts in the manual makes it look pretty cool too, so I definitely have to add those.

Does anyone think this would be double-sided or would the content be just written on one side of each page?

I'd go double sided. paper must be in short supply, just like everything else in the fleet and this was scraped up with whatever the chief could lay hands on.

another idea. you could have an occasional page where the other side is actually neat printed script. ie for certain common components, he filched the pages out of a viper manual.

There could be parts ripped or copied from other manuals for the different components they used.
Ex. engine diagrams of the rebuilt engines with the Chief's notes on part upgrades etc.

I think primarily one sided pages, but the left side used for taped/glued in parts and random small notes.
