Bruce Lee / Game of Death Nunchucks?

Does anyone know of a source for the yellow and black nunchucks Bruce used in Game of Death?

Whilst we are about it, how about the chucks from 'Enter the Dragon' too? I think the ETD nunchucks should be a lot easier to match up as they are a more generic, black set:

Any sources or leads for replicas / dead-on matches?

Nice searchin'!

Thanks mate.:thumbsup

Just ordered a set of the GOD chucks - they look perfect. :))

Also, don't forget that they normally used two different sets of nunchucks. One set was the stunt version that was padded with a vinyl cover (used in the fight sequences and most of the routines), the other set was the hero set made of wood (used when he would pick them up or discard them). So, I guess it depends on if you plan on practicing with them or displaying them. :)

Those don't look bad!

Who was it? "Asian World of Martial arts" who advertised a similar pair for years?

A bit of both.

In the GOD footage, you can actually see the rubber chucks bending as Bruce is using them so I'm sure you are exactly right about the stunt / hero sets.

The set from Woodall's is just what I was looking for - cosmetically, a great replication of the GOD chucks so great for wall display, but with 'real world' hardiness and duability for working out with. Thanks again for that.:thumbsup

I believe you can see the black ones bend too in a couple of scenes.

I know in some of the posters I had as a kid, the chucks looked
pretty ruff-almost like they had been broken and repaired a lot.
I think you could even make-out some black tape on them.

Wow, Asian World of Martial Arts. I haven't heard that name in a long time. I remember sneaking into the city to AWMA in Philly's Chinatown as a 13 year old with Joey Jones to get chuks after we watched Enter the Dragon. When my Mom found them, along with some asian stars we bought, she had a fit. lol But, mostly for going into Chinatown with the 80 lb. Joey, and no adults. She let me keep the chuks and I learned every single move that Bruce did in the prison area. Man, that was fun. AGAHHHHH!

The Wook

Me too!

Along with multiple knocks to the back of my head when I was trying to learn the techniques...

Twenty years later, my mom's garden shed still features a thousand tiny holes from happy summers spent throwing shuriken at it...:lol

Yeah, the other GOD style chucks I had seen all featured the chain link, rather than the authentic rope link.

I like the fact too that these nunchaku are stained yellow rather than just painted.

Yep, I lost my chucks years ago but I still have my GOD Tracksuit which I still wear! :D

The black ones always looked like they were covered in black vinyl and the yellow ones always looked like plastic. I have the big posters in storage. If I go there I'll look to see if any of the images are better quality.

It's probably BS, but I remember reading years ago that the nunchuku in Enter the Dragon were sections of whiffle ball bats cut down to size.

I guess I will quote myself from the first page. :lol

They are composed of a thin sold core wrapped with padding and covered with vinyl/plastic. Wood versions show up in non-fight scenes.

Yeah, it makes good sense that they would have stunt and hero versions of the weapons.

The woodcraft folks Montagar linked to on the first page also make a version of the Way of the Dragon nunchuks - they look very nice, too:

Way back we had a pair made of real oak. One cousin was swinging them and the other wanted to try, but the first wouldn't give them up. So the second was going to grab them out the air and be real coooool.
Instead it hit him on the forehead. He went down like a sack of potatoes, and lay in a heap totally still. We looked at each other like 'aw crap, he's dead. Now we're in trouble!!'
But then after a minute he came to.
