Brett's cap from Alien...

Anyone know where I can find an accurate repro? Patch is secondary; it's the cap itself I'm having a hard time tracking down.

Thanks in advance for any tips you may be able to provide.

It's just a navy blue baseball cap, yeah? If you've got the patch, you can get scrambled eggs everywhere. Here's the first place I got when googling "Navy cap" and "Scrambled eggs":

ITC has this for $15.00:

It "was" just a standard baseball cap wasn't it? I remember WAY back in the day, a company called "The Thinking Cap Company" made some pretty nice replicas that they sold through Starlog.

The patch itself has been available for years. :)

The Thinking Cap Co. is where I had gotten mine many years ago. It's been gone for a long time. I wore that hat out.:) I still have a seperate patch from them somewhere around the house.

iirc The Thinking Cap Company did the screen-used ones.

I remember they did the Outland ones.

I also remember their motto: Cogito ergo capellum vestio. "I think, therefore I wear a hat." I loved that.

Oops wrong movie! :lol

It was Outland that they did.

Yeah that was a great Motto, I loved that Company!!

I was going to ask how accurate the Thinking Cap co. ones were..(I STILL have my SW officer cap from them & it's not that close :D)
I have a friend that still has his ALIENS cap, and though he wouldn't part with it for anything, I could get pics & details from him..(he still wears it all the time)

I'd contact SG-RB.

He's working on a more accurate patch.

If you go through the nostromo uniform thread, I think you'll see some picts.

Thanks for the tips, guys.

Truth be told, I was hoping to find an exact replica of the cap seen in the film, but apparently this will be harder than I thought.

I still have one of the old Thinking Cap Co. caps, and while it's a nice enough product it bears only a passing resemblance to the screen-used version.

I'll follow up on some of the posted leads and let you know what I dig up.

Once again, much obliged for the help.

Just be sure you don't end up with the one that has the hole torn in the front of it...:eek

Still got my Thinking Cap as well and I always felt that the hat itself was pretty accurate, it was the patch that was off-Brett's had the light blue background patch, the Thinking cap's was dark blue.
Been having a hard time finding old-school hats, too. The ones described as vintage are faded and distressed, or old-timey Babe Ruth era baseball style. I hope someone finds the right hat.

The Thinking Cap Co. Hat is accurate to my life, so I dig that one a lot better than anything with a patch closer to Brett's. :lol

I was thinking about The Thinking Cap Company the other day and I wondered if anyone knew who the people who ran it, where they are now and/or what became of them. Googling about I can't find much more to references to the hats, but nothing about them.

I used to have the Nostromo hat until a girlfriend's toy dog got a hold of it. The patch survives and I have one of the Outland patches too. These may be the very first 'props' I collected as a teenager in the 70's. It would great to tell the makers how much I enjoyed them.
