In case anyone hasn't seen, one of the random pieces of set decoration/droid decor was shared recently.. this year? Last year? I can't remember, but it was by Parts of Star Wars! Lots more info on their FB page. Parts of Star Wars Facebook Page

Anyways, I went and found one for myself, a specific Ford dashboard, for the tachometer. From what I've read, the full size falcon had at least one (there's a gift from anthony daniels out there calling this a certain cover part in the falcon) and it ends up on droids in ESB and Jedi and the Rebel Trooper backpacks from both movies. There are two kinds, this is the earlier model.

I wanted to share a full break down in case other parts of this dash are used anywhere. So far, nothing, but parts are being IDed everyday it feels like..

Here's what I started with. A Ford Escort MK2 dash

Recognize anything?

Anywhoo.. here are some of the obvious parts that pop off. A relay? Bulbs... etc.

The screws.. all of these are the type used on the Hoth pistons, the phillips screws with the faint "X" on the heads. They're standard screws so nothing earth shattering, just a cool coincidence.

Next.. the teardown..

The parts themselves....

And.... drumroll..........

I used some dawn dish-soap and an old vegetable brush on the surface

I thought I'd seen the part with the metal part sticking out the back, meaning the bracket was still in the part, so I left it for now
