Why on Earth would that happen? Has that show ever even been connected to DC? Have I completely missed that it's part of the arrowverse somehow?

Lucifer is loose base on a Vertigo comic, which is owned by DC. Plus, John Constantine has interacted with Lucifer in the comes I believe.

Making the emblem smaller is a visual trick to make the chest look bigger and therefore character looks more powerful.
In your modified picture the larger, lower emblem doesn't convey that same sense.
Brandon and Henry are good Supermen who have gotten CRAP WRITING And in Henry's case, Directing, to work with. If more people had gone on to social media when SR Came out, and they were hammering Brandon as "Stalker Superman", maybe you would have gotten those other movies. I dropped out of Arrow last season, I just got tired of SOS. I'll tune into the Crisis stuff, but otherwise I'm still out. Just got tired of "Ohhh that's important and might effect everyone around me, better keep it a secret until it blows up in my face" Time after time after time after time, season after season.
Constantine has interacted with Lucifer, who is not running hell just like on the series, but a triumvirate is, and John has F@#$%ed them over so bad so many times that he literally cannot be sent to hell when he dies, it's straight up to heaven, unfortunately EVERYNE around him he holds near and dear has paid the price for all this. The worst was The First of the Fallen, (Makes Lucifer look like a schoolboy), who said "Casn't touch you? Fine. I'll just take out everyone around you. Rules? What Rules?

Yea. I'm still not sure if I actually like cavil or not. The movies I've seen him in were so bad overall, that I can't tell if he's an actor I don't like, or if he's just got terrible luck in films.

They could have something included to tie in the DC movie universe, considering all the other source material they're raking into it. I'm not talking anything huge, but something on the order of a cameo/Easter egg. I was talking about it with my brother yesterday, and it hit me that if it was permitted by TPTB, and if he were available, they might be able to get Zachary Levi to do a scene as Shazam. If they kept it brief enough, he could enter and exit the story without revealing much of anything. They could even get a gag out of it by having the established Arrow-verse characters presume he is another version of the Flash. With the red suit, gold trim, and lightning bolt insignia, it would be a reasonable conclusion. Plus, Levi strikes me as a guy who might be willing to do it, maybe more so than any of the other DC cinematic universe actors.
I presume this would not be allowed, if only because I suspect one of the goals of using Crisis is to make all these characters going forward live on the same earth, with the "alternate" versions implicitly written out of existence -- which they wouldn't want to imply for the movie characters.

Given the rest of what you said, I would pay money to see Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern put in an appearance, so that version can be officially wiped from reality.
ETA: Laaaaaaaaame. Just found out Lucifer won't be in this. The actor was just around the set for a friend's birthday.
