Hi All, maybe this is covered elsewhere but I though I'd make a new thread to highlight it. On Adams Savage's latest YouTube video on the BR 2049 props there are some great shots of the radio starting at 13 mins. Here is a quick photo taken with my phone off the screen...

A few more grabs...

I think that’s incorrect. It’s a US Vietnam-era PRC/6. The so-called “banana radio”. Got mine from EBay for around 60 Euros. There’s a few variants but they’re all basically the same.

Specifically, the variant used by the production is a PRC6/6 which was a version of the standard US design modified for the West German military and built by Lorenz in the late 50s/early 60s. The key difference being the standard PRC6 only had a single channel (to change frequency the case had to be opened, the TX and RX crystals had to be changed and the circuits realigned). The PRC6/6 has 6 sets of crystals, selectable via an external butterfly knob at the top of the handset (in front of the antenna) and a glazed window in the rear case to display the selected channel.

The internal chassis and circuitry are very different to the standard PRC6. Other external detail differences are that all the instruction placards are in German and the latches on the case are a different design to the US-made versions

Thanks! Just pick one up from Ebay as well! I'm going to try to convert it to use blue tooth so i can connect my cell to it.

here's a pic of the standard prc 6 with 10mm hole for channel ident drilled in the cover and studs added to the clasps.

the prc 6 versions are easily modified to make them look the same, but you do need the channel selection switch just under the aerial to make them perfect.
Awesome prop this one.
