Bounty Hunter Boushh Voice FX

Hey guys,

My girlfriend and I are trying to put together a low-budget Boushh costume for Halloween this year.

We are mainly stuck on replicating the voice changer effect. We are looking for a real-time conversion and not just replaying specific phrases.

I know there is a Hyperdyne kit floating around, but that is a bit pricey (and it shows it is temporarily out of stock on his website). Does anybody know if he is still offering these?

Also, has anyone had success with alternative ways to replicate the voice effect?

I'd be very interested to find a budget alternative to this as well, I've also got a Halloween-only Boushh underway.

So far all that comes up is the Hyperdyne. That is also the only voice changer I've ever seen mentioned on TBBG, with the one possible exception being a single mention of a cheap robotic-type toy from WalMart that was never explored.

I think I might have found a possible solution.

I bought a program called AV Voice Changer that can get close to the sound effect that we all want. Unfortunately, I now have a problem of what to run the program off of!

I was thinking of a Palm PDA or Pocket PC with the program loaded on (with a microphone and speaker connected), but I don't know if the Palm OS or Windows Mobile operating systems are going to be compatible with the AV Voice Changer (it is a windows xp program). I don't own a Palm PDA or Pocket PC and probably don't want to drop the cash to try it and fail. Is there anyone more tech-savvy that can help me out here?

try wally world in the toy section, look for where the spy stuff for kids are, they had the voice changers there, i found like 10 of them one day, bought a couple to mess with. theyre only 5 bucks.

I have several of the Walmart voice changers. I may be the person who mentioned them on TBBG, come to think of it... :)

They're not exact, but for the price ($7 + tax at my store), they're not bad. Worth checking them out to see if you like the sound.

I'm working on a Boba/Boushh voice changer, and it's in the "debug" phase now. I use it at events (I'm Boba) frequently, and am overall happy with it. I still need to make some tweaks, though. I have about 100 projects going on, including a run of Boushh parts on TBBG right now, patches, decals... CRAP!!! :wacko It'll be forever before I'm done! LOL

get yourself one of these el-cheapo voice alien voice changer masks for about $10...the setting for "alien voice" comes as close to Boushh as you can get.

Here´s a pic of a set from german ebay:

I instantly thought of those! I remember playing with one my friends son had a year or so ago and thinking it sounded like boushh! :)

If you are going for el-cheapo you will be hard pressed to find better on the cheap.

Hyperdyne is the big leauge stuff. If you don't have a 2-5,000 dollar suit I wouldn't think that you need a 300 dollar voice changer... but his stuff is the best! :)
