Book of Mudora from Legend of Zelda series [UPDATED 20AUG2013]

Re: Book of Mudora from Legend of Zelda series [SAMPLE PAGES ADDED 12JAN2012]

I like it, very clean. Are there going to be images interspersed? For some reason, I was thinking like the opening to Wind Waker, where it had a pictoriaal representation of the story along with the text. That might be more work than it's worth though. Just a thought.

Throughout the book there will be pictures of the Sacred Items, Races, Creatures, and Events, with the Events section being where the 'Intro Drawings' from the games will be held, amongst the text.

I will also be including hand drawn maps from each game era. All the pictures and text will be done with a calligraphy pen, to give it an authentic look.

Like I said, this will be a long project, and I will only be working on a few pages or so a day when I start writing it by hand. Beings as I have no time limit on it, I can put as much as I want in it, but I'd like to have it done within a couple months of being home after I've gathered the materials.

Not too much interest in this, so I don't feel very rushed lol.

Thank you! I get out of the Army in June so I will be able to focus on this project more.

Alrighty everyone! I'm back from the dead with an update to this. I've finally figured out an efficient way to print these pages back to back (after many failed attempts of doing it by hand with my chicken scratch handwriting).

-Text spaces measure 4.25" wide by 5.5" tall
-The pages measure 5" wide by 6" tall
-Book cover and spine will be 1/4" larger around and made of wood covered by leather

I've found some aged parchment card stock that I will be using for the pages. That should help with the aging I will be doing to it after it's put together. Glad that I have some time to do this now. Thanks to those who have waited patiently!

EDIT:
Here's the parchment paper I've found. The aged card stock didn't work out, so I'm going for a 'Copper' toned 24# parchment paper. What do you think?

Re: Book of Mudora from Legend of Zelda series [Back on track Whoohoo! 18AUG2013]

*UPDATE*

Started printing off the pages that I have translated so far. I've printed about 1/5 of the overall page count. Still have about 1/2 of the book to get translated.

Re: Book of Mudora from Legend of Zelda series [Begun printing pages 19AUG2013]

So had a little problem today. Started drawing the sacred items on the pages and the ink soaked straight through the parchment (keep in mind, the parchment is only 24#). I tried a multitude of different inks and markers, all with the same end result. My only method now is to print the images.

That means I will have to convert all the images and play with them individually on the computer to get them to look like an ink drawing. The master sword and Wind Walker came out decent, but the Goddess Harp was eh. I'll add pictures in a second.

As of now this is the only copy I'm making, so only I will know how the inside will look up close. Still aggregating though. :banghead:

Not bad! I think if you produced about 100 a year and sell them for maybe $200-$400, people would be flocking to you to get their hands on it. But a quick thing to do though is say that it's unofficial due to copywrite laws so Nintendo doesn't sue you.
