Well, heres my first try at painting up some Fett armour, its done over the span of 2 days...I kinda rushed it (couldn't wait really).

My first try at the whole battle damage thing (using toothpaste to mask the areas). Thought it'd be good practice for when my Sgt. Fang helmet gets here :)

Thanks for looking.

Nicely done.
How do you plan to attach them to the vest?
[/b]

Well...first I have to get the vest made...then probably just velcro (industrial strength I guess)...stick one side on the armour and stitch the other to the vest

Just forewarning, Velcro alone, doesnt hold your armor all that well to the vest. I would suggest doing snaps AND velcro, the snaps keep the armor on the vest so that it wont peel off, and then the velcro around the edges, to keep the vest held close to the armor giving a seamless look

My armour's only made out of plastic (abs and garbage cans), was your experience with the velcro not being enough on fiberglass armour? (just wondering if maybe it'll eb ok as its so light

thanks.

I think that the weight isnt the issue, its when your moving around in the suit and such the armor tends to come away from the velcro. Unless you have swen the velcro to the vest and use indusrtial strength velcro I would suggest using snaps.

Actually I've used only industrial velcro on my Boba vest armor since 1999, and haven't had any problems with it popping off while wearing the suit.

That is great. I made some armor like that awhile back for my kid. Check it out.

Here is a pic of just the armor. Made it from a trash can too.

I made the helmet as well from a play-type football helmet and a cheap Jango mask

That is soooo cute....

lol, thats probably how I'm going to turn out looking...a giant helmet on top of my tiny body...lol

If my parents had only made costumes like that for me when I was a kid...that would've been the coolest.

And now here's the collar armour...started it last night (god that garbage can took a beating for this costume) painted it yesterday and finished up today:
