Blood Stripes - Han Solo upgrade

It was time to upgrade my Han pants. I used old blue pants that look really crappy by comparison.

I took red polyester craft ribbon, cut 3in strips and hot glued them down to 1.5 inches. I used fabric glue to attach them.

I also found tall rubber riding boots for $39 to replace the costume ones I had.

Could you elaborate a bit? Did you fold the excess under to have a nicer edge?
