I'm curious if there are any kits out of the gun Deckard uses in Bladerunner. I think i saw a few on here but i know one of them is all metal and i doubt that would go over well at comic conventions.

The most iconic versions were made by Rick Ross Pflager Katsumata. There were a number of others made (yes, and also recasts) but now you will find it fairly difficult to track one down.

Check these boards and also the boards on Propsummit Propsummit.com a Blade Runner Prop Community Forum BladeRunnerProps.comIndex because every now and then a kit pops up.

May I also suggest you visit Propsummit for ANY information regarding the Blaster and the Blade Runner franchise in general? They're a terrific and extremely knowledgable bunch of folk.

Good luck with your quest

I'm gonna send my buddy there too. He's nuts about bladerunner lol. i turned him on to the novels and he's been collecting old magazines about the movie. I'm one up on him as I have the PC game lol. I'll check the the site out for sure.

Watch out! I purchased a PKD Blaster at a model convention (without checking!), thinking I was getting a good deal for $40.00. Was I ever suprised when I got home!
It has to be a recast of a recast! It was horrible! I've seen the same solid resin version of the gun on ebay, and you'll have to do alot of work! Mine became more of a restoration, than a build! I finally finished it, and Im presently working on a stand for it.
I might buy another one that has multi pieces out of resin, they look pretty good. Just like the saying goes, you get what you pay for!
Oh, and Propsummit has been a major help! A tip of the hat to the builders over there as well!

Totally agree with Mark.
Head over to Propsummit for anything Blade Runner related.

There is a very useful time line on all known replica blasters by Andy that I'm sure you will find very useful.

By far the BEST Resin Kits of the Dekkard PKD Blaster are from Rick Ross.

He made several versions. I think better the the original prop design.

You can use the Search feature on the RPF Forum to find all the threads about the different kits and builds.

I have been trying to find the Rick Ross PKD Magnum myself. No luck. I missed my best chance to pick up two ealier - keep an Eye on the Junkyard section here on the forum.

Someday I will find someone willing to part with the Magnum.

Be careful - I got ripped with a recast of a recast - and paid for what I thought was the Real first generation Rick Ross Magnum. :cry

Maybe Rick Ross will do another run someday. Rick - you fans are waiting !!!!!

lol. i found a pretty nice looking one that the guy was nice enough to reserve for me. I'll keep an eye out for a rick ross one but for now this one'll do nicely. Especially since its for a costume. If nothing else my costumes will be very well armed. lol

There is a toy one being sold in England cheaply as a Buy It Now under the name Fancy Dress Gun. It could be modified and painted up to look half way decent for a costume gun. I have also used both an Offworld and a Wilco for costuming when I dressed up for Halloween as Gaff. I may use the Wilco again for when I get the police costume done for next Halloween hopefully.

There's an inexpensive PKD kit (the one with the Japanese characters) that pops up on eBay every week out of the UK. I couldn't recommend it in good conscience because it looks like a recast of a recast. (I could be wrong, of course.)

I don't know if i'd want to buy a gun kit and have it shipped internationally lol. I don't trust customs that much.

Yep, that is the Coolmodels recast of the Rick Ross PKD-1, even if it wasn't a recast, it is a piece of warped and bubble filled junk. Stay away. Wilco doesn't make their version anymore either.

I have an original Rick Ross PKD purchased over 10 years ago I don't need. It is missing two parts. PM me for details.

Yeah i figure for what i'm gonna use it for i don't want an expensive one, especially with the abuse it'll get with a costume.

Well I think its safe to say this is the same kit I bought at a model convention! At least I know what one it was based, err.. recast from! I'll have to post my build / resteration over there to show how I made a gun out of a block of resin! Thanks again for the info!
