Blade Runner: Where to begin?

Another BR myth to bust still, is that the Unicorn shots came from Legend. They were shot for Blade Runner, and in the DVD set you can see the clap board with "Blade Runner" titled on it. It is possible however that since he knew he would be working on Legend next, he made it with the double purpose as a test to see how he might shoot Legend.

I know that Ridley was trying to follow the "Film Noir" frame work. Where in the end a big secret is revealed, often with a tragic result. The problem with Film Noir endings is that they aren't usually too popular for "Hollywood" movies (why the producers didn't like it), and the twist ending usually only works with one viewing. Blade Runner works because it gets better in repeated viewings, and our connections to the film evolves each time we see it.

The real hardcore film noir ending was Deckard in love with Rachael and having to kill her anyways, but more as an act of love as Finchner described. Imagine how that would have went over with audiences? :lol

They took a risk mixing two film genres together, it must have sounded a bit crazy at the time. Especially when Sci Fi had gone pop by then and film noir was well, was it even alive in 82? certainaly not popular producing big hits like Sci Fi was doing.

So maybe cutting it some slack that it didn't go full tilt boogie noir is in order, and even allowing for the super happy ending isn't a sin.

The characters had certainly been tortured enough by then.
 
After looking at how much silver origami paper would cost me and the royal pain it looks to fold the little muther, I just ordered a set of all the little figures on ebay by someone who knows what they are doing. :lol
 
^Brotha, I loved it so much, I printed it out, cut it out and taped it to my mirror. Simply priceless. I'm still laughing:)
I mean seriously, what he wrote goes perfectly with his avatar!
 
ive tried so many times to watch this movie, and i just dont get it, i cant get into at all

not on my favourites list im afraid
 
another little fun fact is the damn 2nd street tunnel seen in Blade Runner is also seen in almost EVERY freaking car commercial.
