Blade Runner Snub Nose Blaster Project

Just caught this thread. Definitely blown away. Beautiful work Dave!

So in the end, how long do you estimate this project took you?

Thanks! I really have no idea how long it took, I didn't keep track of the hours. It's probably a good thing too, if I had, the kit would cost twice as much!

amazing work! you've managed to improve on one of the all-time best fictional gun designs. if you could only make it a functional firearm... :)

Project Awesomeness Level: EPIC!!! Amazing work. And a very nice molding tutorial to boot. I'd love to get one from your next run, if Im not still broke. LOL

***Pic Heavy**** I present to you my new BR snubbie. I decided to go with a black finish and gave it some slight holster wear. Big thanks to DaveG. What an awesome kit! It was so much fun to build.

It's new home:

Now all we need is that awesome acrylic stand to go with it:love

The Display looks great! I'd be interested in one.

And wow Daddy Solo, that came out great!

Hmm...now we need holsters for them....

Completion Achieved!

Krylon Grey base primer, Krylon Stainless Steel, and Krylon Oil Rubbed Bronze were all usedf for the paints.

The ammo clip was wired with 2 red 10mm LED's with a switch and 2 CR1220 lithium batteries, THEY ALL BARELY FIT!

Great Work! I like the bronze color and the contrast with the stainless steel.

Can you post a photo looking at the electronics so we can see how you packed it all in?

Just a little update... there are still a few kits from the first run available. Some of the molds have broken down so I'll need to make new molds in order to do another run of kits. But I won't have the time to do this until after the first of the year. This is by way of saying, if you were thinking of the Snubby as the perfect Christmas gift for the Blade Runner fan in your life (or yourself), don't delay!

Another note about the next run, the clip holder and clip are likely to be molded in one piece. The double set of three part molds was just way too time consuming to redo again. This will mean no removable clip for LED conversion. So if you were thinking about adding electronics a first run kit is the only practical option.

Words fail. The finished piece is a work of art. I want case of these.

OH HELL YEAHHH!!! This thread alone has motivated me to stop lurking and sign up! Do these ship overseas? I gotta get me one of these!!

Yup, so far I have shipped the kits to the UK, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands and Australia, in addition to the US. PM me and I'll send you the details.

@DaveG - any plans for the stands? :confused I sent a pm a while back on propsummit, but never heard back from you.
