The first thing I thought when I read "Blade Runner screenwriter" was "which one?" :lol

I'd really like to see this made into a film. I've read that book several times and Haldeman is one of my favorite authors.

It could be good. I am unfortunately not familiar with the Forever War story or author (Bad me). Ridley seems to have taken the hint after promoting the Final Cut, to finally make another science fiction film. So he is on the books now for at least 4. The Alien prequel, Monopoly(?), TFW, Brave New World, and supposedly involved with a Mass Effect movie.

Everything everyone likes about Blade Runner was David Peoples, not Hampton Fancher.

I heard (HEARD, nothing solid here) about a year ago that it's going to be Ridley Scott directing, and that after getting a demonstration of James Cameron's 3D camera technology (along with some other directors) Ridley managed to negotiate time to use them for Forever War.

Problem: It's been like a year since i read that, and I haven't heard anything about it since, so it's likely to be just hollywood back room whisper gossip. But that would rule if it were true.

Forever War has been in development for 20 years no. Would be great to finally see it done. It's a really interesting story with some great characters.

Now if they could just get Ender's Game made into a movie, that would rock. I recall a rumor from YEARS ago where Fred Savage was locked to play Ender. hah!
