If the price is right, It will be THE kit hands down short of an actual firearm.

According to the link above the pic they are "from left to right, Mr.Kawashima president of Marushin Kogyo, Mr. Otani design engineer and model maker Nobutaka Toku (aka Toku-san)"

This may not be a Coyle but with Customs this could be the best way to get one of these Blasters into Canadian legally! So here's hoping it's not priced out of my reach!
There is a Coyle version for sale on the RPF right now, for $800 I think, but I do not have the money and I'm sure if I did once it got to Customs it would be seized anyway!

Nobu is the builder of the "special" blaster in my avatar. He designed the original Tomenosuke kit in 2008, and also the "PRO" manufactured by Marushin starting in 2009 to today.

Heh, agree; and after last year's events the other popular choice is never, ever going to be an option, for me. :lol This looks like a new no. 1 contender to lighten my wallet. Do we know what the materials will be?

How many japanese men does it take to assemble a Bladerunner gun?

    Answer solved!

I don't know, I still would say Rich's last run with the removable ammo clip is still the closest you can get to the original.

I'm just about to order a Tomenosuke Blaster Pro.

How is this different to the last Pro run, is it just self assembly?

Well the "PRO" is a pre-built replica... finest quality, superior workmanship. :cool

The PRO has gone through several revisions, the first one was "as built by," then we got the all-black police version, and the current one is the "Worldcon" version, slightly weathered.

Only 300 of each version was made, so act now if you want the PRO.

This new thing we're seeing in this thread, is an assembly kit. I have no info yet on pricing, materials or how this will be different than the PRO.

    k

Any kit is for sure going to have the same precision parts at a minimum.
Hopefull the barrel can be metal now since it is a kit.

That's what I was hoping, an all metal replica. Still I really don't want to miss the opportunity of bagging a pre-made pro so will go ahead.

Just got to get through those pesky UK customs jobs worths!

Including Leds is the easy part. Manufacturing an entire pistol is the hard part.

Interesting. Are the blaster "pro"s sold out? They were limited to 300 pcs?

I'm hoping since it is a kit now, that they finally get around the Japanese laws on gun replicas.

Now that it's a kit, it shouldn't be too hard to put in a real bulldog, right?

Hopefully they will tell us more details soon and if it will be all metal.

Need to know as I may buy the Worldcon version instead before it sells out.

If the kit is all metal I'll probably wait for that one.

How much do you think this kit will be? If a prebuilt one is about $1200, a kit would be $600-700?

Well, remember that all foreign labor is cheap, SO these will probably be $1165. The $35 is how much it cost to put it together in Japan. ;)

God, I want one. So. Bad.

But the prices on these things (I'm not holding my hopes very high for the kits being my kind of "affordable" or even "reasonable" price) still warrants me to just make one myself.

    Same here. :(

Why is it this gun is so loved by replica collectors and sci-fi fans alike, yet there seem to be so few replicas of it, let alone affordable kits.

As amusing as that statement is, it is kind of true in that labor is a fraction there. Then why bother making a kit in the first place then? There's got to be a bigger incentive other than the fun of putting it together.
