Bioshock Infinite

The story of Rapture is over (the story in 2 was just too tacked on). This I can get behind.

The city is almost like a Miyazaki film that got all the sweetness sucked out of it. I'm loving it!

Bioshock was the best. B2 was a big let down even though the previews looked good. This looks sweet, hope it lives up to that trailers 1st impression.

Eh. Dunno.

The first had plot and soul. What will this have?

When Bioshock followed up System Shock 2 I said the same thing. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt even after Bioshock 2. If I'm wrong, well I guess "Fool me twice. Shame on me".

I played Bioshock 2 then 1 so I don't have the same attachment as others although I do think 1 was better in most respects and had weeks of nightmares to prove it.

This new one looks interesting and a nice change in time line and atmosphere.
Lots of fodder for the steam punk fans to go gaga over.

Bioshock 2 was ok, it just felt short and lacking for some reason. It didn't pull me in quite like the 1st did. Plus the open sea area was promoted as a whole new area to explore and it was just paths one had to follow to the next entrance. Not what was advertised IMHO.

I'll get this just because it's original looking and I love the new Big daddy type thing.

It looks like a great game, combining the old things we love about Bioshock, such as Plasmids and the gorgeous visuals, with a whole new setting and story.

although I will miss Rapture.

Totally agreed.

I loved the world of Rapture in the first one, but the second was a bit of a letdown, although I still enjoyed it. Bioshock in the sky?....I dunno....who's kidding who...I'll still get it.

The neat thing about bioshock is that the storyline fits anywhere in any time period. You could have it be a space colony and the story still makes sense since there will always be someone who wants to escape and make his own world where he is in charge like Ryan did in the first one when he made Rapture.

I'll miss Rapture a lot. The fact to be well below the surface, the claustrophobic but yet a bit poetic environment, the rusted and dirty surfaces, this dead city inhabited by zombies ( more or less )... I loved Bioshock for Rapture. Have bought the second one, didn't had the time to play it yet.

But this ? Bioshock without Rapture isn't Bioshock. It's a franchise name pasted onto another game IMHO. As someone said before this post, I felt I was in a Miyazaki movie. Powers or not...

So... I dunno. :/

Yeah, That was definately part of the love of Rapture, is it had this great lost beauty to it, which really made it that little bit extra awesome.

Columbia doesnt seem to have that.

I think it's too early to judge too much. I think the beauty of Rapture had a lot to do with the dated period and steampunk feel. Based on the trailer, this new direction still appears to be keeping in the same period and the same steampunk theme with almost a Myst type atmosphere. What remains to be seen is the scope of the game in how big the environment really is for the player to explore and of course the story and where it leads. I'm kind of getting excited about its potential myself.

You think the claustrophobic style setting is one thing, try telling someone who's afraid of heights to play this game out.

Ready, set, and.....

BUMP

So... came out this week, anybody playing it? I've got the PC version, just started it today, about two or three hours in.

The gameplay is still more or less Bioshock, but the visuals.. holy crap, this game is incredible. It's not so moody and dismal as the last two games, it's all bright and sunny, but the art style is absolutely up front, and it still feels like Bioshock. So far, definitely recommended.

Yep, I agree. I just started the PC version. Definitely a must play if you're a fan of the series. The art direction is amazing; but at its core, it's Bioshock.
Great voice acting, inventive gameplay, a compelling storyline.

Oh, and........
