Hello guys,
I am currently working on a new papercraft model. I did some of the vigor bottles from Bioshock Infinite a while back and had great response from a lot of people.
This time I do the crossbow weapon from Bioshocks latest DLC Burial at Sea 2.
I started the process by finding the files on DeviantArt. They were for xnalara so i converted them to .3ds and edited the different parts in Google Sketchup 2013.
I am doing papercrafts for about 4 years so I am kind of familiar with the steps you have to take for a build able model. After editing in Sketchup I exported everything ready for pepakura.
The model has some thin parts. So I split it in about 4 main parts and some other. Main parts are middle piece, handle, and the 2 bow parts.
I also tried to find the right size. The model will be about 30cm in length.
Some pictures of the building process:

This is the handle. You can see the paper rings put together by gluing all the paper flaps inside.

Main piece and handle put together. You see my Macbook Air in the back so you can get a feeling for the size...

This is one of the two bow parts (I bet there is a special name for it...) came out pretty nice. The holes are for little bolts which will hold the string later.

All main parts put together. All in all it took me about a week this far. Some closeups following:

That's it so far. I will now work on the smaller parts like sideplates, firering mechanism, and maybe some bolts to load...
