Bill Murray on Stern...

I thought they were going to bring in the original cast and add new Ghostbusters, like Seth Rogan, etc etc. They could still do it, and just have Bill Murray as a Cameo or something.

I can understand Bill Murray's side. He is totally RICH and can do or NOT do whatever he wants.
But what about me? I NEED more Ghostbusters! So he needs to go ahead and make a decision. Get in on it or pass.
As for all the remakes and sequels that Hollywood churns out, well..... if it sucks, it takes nothing away from the original... if it is awesome, then good for all of us. There is a possibility that we might even get a new generation of Ghostbuster movies. I think it is worth the risk!
disclaimer- I have had a lot of scotch tonight.

Just the slim change of additional Ghostbusters glory is worth any risk.
disclaimer- already stated I am drinking scotch.

Maybe it's just me, but I get the impression he thinks the GB's are his, Akroyd's, and Ramis' gig and that even while (pt 3) may have been akroyd and Ramis' story, the reason it's getting a push is that the studio wants to continue the franchise with younger, 'more marketable' castmembers purely for merhandising reasons and he simply doesn't want a part of that.

As with anything... We still have, and always WILL have the original movie ( And the sequel. )

At least if GB3 is made, there's a CHANCE it will be good.
If it's not made, then there's zero chance.

I live in Charleston, SC and Bill Murray is around here all the time. He is WAY laid back. Ive bumped into him a few times. I think he isnt into making this movie because he just is into chilling out and doing whatever he wants. He has no idea if the script is good or not, because he doesnt care.
I wish he did care, because I would like to see more Ghostbusters.

I'd like to see him in it, but it can work without Bill Murray. No one is irreplaceable.

Not in this case. Every memorable quote and scene from the previous are from Bill. With him the film still has its hurdles, but without, it stands no chance - absolutely none. You think Rogan or any other "comedian" today can fill the space of Murray. By Murray saying he doesn't want to do it - it pretty much validates that the screenplay is garbage.
