Hi, I have just bought my first 'Fan made' helmet off the bay and wanted to know a bit more. Some that were made (DP / Altmans) were, as I can fathum, a 'bit small'. Assuming it fits correctly where should the bottom of the face plate come down in relation to your face. Mine comes to 'just' below my chin (I know my head size will effect this but is there a rule of thumb).
Also where the face meets the 'blinders' there is a little run through of glue (fiberglass construction). I was thinking about runing a mastic line round this area to clean up the look. However all the phots I've seen have an effective 'gap' in this area. Would I be compromising the 'accuracy of this helmet by doing this? Finally I need to put on decals and have ordered some from 'decal trooper'. The lines for the back of the helmet are all the same length but I have seen some where ,just in from the left hand side at the top, some of the verticle lines are shorter. Is there any thought on which is more accurate?
