Hello all. Just wanted to post some pics of a T-Rex head I made. It will be in a haunted house and will be animated to open and close it's mouth.

Yeah, wow. Easy to see all the time and effort that went into that bad boy.
Yes, Ths head is made from styrofoam that I then coated with sculpt or coat and cotton batten for texture. The teeth are foam as well that I then coated with an a/b putty epoxy to make smooth.

How does one go about getting foam that large? I'm interested in doing one of my own from scratch.
The foam I get I buy from a company called tristatefoam. They are located in VA. and only ship here and NC but I am guessing that other places sell the foam as well. You may just want to google search for polystyrene foam (that is the actual name of it) Hope the info helps

Thanks for the kind words guys and also a BIG thanks for Tom for getting me in touch with the new owner of this little critter I have wanted to make something like this for quite a while but without a proper home for it I had not tried tackling it yet. I love these big projects, making the small stuff just seems to drive me crazy. lol
Moncal it is funny that you mention Ron and Tom, they are the guys that inspired me to even start sculpting in the first place By the way I have not started doing this type of work full time yet but I am working towards it.

Actually since it is going into a haunted house the eye is a clear dome that I back painted. What I did was paint the pupil first then colored over it with orange and red colors. Since it is on the inside of the dome the outside is nice and shiny In the future if I made another T-Rex I would go with a glass eye if it were in a collection or museum type of setting but the plastic eye is the way to go in a haunted house.
