Beware the Batman Premieres July 13th on Cartoon Network

Looks like it may be worth checking out but yeah, the stories will make or break it. Not in love with the animation style but could just need to get used to it.

Not digging the style, this and Green Lantern had a lazy cgi look. Even "The Batman" series was good because it wasn't cgi even if the stories weren't good. They should have gone with the Young Justice style as that Batman looks pretty good. Then again this is the same station that turned Teen Titans into a super deformed show for 5 year olds and canceled Thundercats despite good ratings.

100% Agreed! However, I would've kept Young Justice instead of taking on new show... Why do we need another Batman cartoon?

That trailer was funny - first batman gets smacked by a girl, then he gets smacked by the guy in the white robes, then he gets his batmobile shot up by a cannonball, then he jumps out of an exploding building..... Man, not a good day to be him eh?

I just had a convo with a buddy about how Batman The Animated Series was just incredible and I still enjoy watching it. It was very mature for a kids show. Any new batman cartoons have a lot to live up to.

I read that Alfred will be replaced with Katana. I'm not thrilled about that.

They just need to go back the The Animated Series.

You aren't kidding. I bet Kevin Conroy would be up for it. They need to bring back that entire animated universe with Superman, Justice league and it would have been nice to see Batman Beyond pick up after the last season of justice league where you see Terry as an adult.

That animation style is weird, not sure if I like it or not. It reminds me of the animated cut scenes from the Batman: Vengence video-game from 2001!

We need a batman series using the models from Arkham City. Sadly Cartoon network wouldn't go for that as it's too dark and scary.

I've watched all 3 episodes so far and it's not too bad story wise, animation wise it leaves a lot to be desired. The character designs are so-so, I'm not crazy about the Batman seems to have almost no forehead and the actual animation itself isn't all that great either. Although BtB has a similar look to Green Lantern the animation was far better in Green Lantern, there's a lot of lazy animation in BtB where things stop suddenly and the character animation seems a bit choppy too.

Story wise, it's interesting to see that they're setting this series (relatively) early in the Bat's career and so he's not as good as he is in most other animated series. I do like that they're emphasizing his detective skills, something that tends to get overlooked a lot in both his TV and movie incarnations. The really interesting thing is that they seem to be, so far, avoiding the more well known villains instead going for either new or less well known villains. For this new series Bats' main nemesis won't be the Joker but instead, according to Wikipedia, it will be an obscure villain/anti-villain named Anarky.

yeah i dont really like a lot of this show. the only thing i kinda enjoy is that they dont use the standard villains. but overall batman gets smacked around most of the time, apparently alfred is a war veteran from the british secret service, overall, they changed to much of the characters, and the animation style is terrible to me.

I also like that they're not using (so far) any of the usual villains that we see all of the time in Bat shows and movies, it's nice to see villains that I've never heard of or even recognize. It makes me wonder if we'll eventually see any of the usual members of Bat's rogue's gallery or will it always be these less well known villains.

As for the rest, I don't mind the change in Alfred that much, it, apparently, coincides with the changes that DC was already planning on making to him for the new 52. As for the animation style, with the exception of Bat's ultra low forehead the character designs aren't really all that different from the old TAS just that they're now in 3d, what's bugging me more is the actual animation. I don't know where they're getting this show animated but the studio that's doing it is obviously doing in on the cheap. While the texturing is really well done the animation itself is a bit choppy like they cut down on frames to save render time or something, combine that with the way things tend to come to a stop fairly suddenly instead of the slow, gradual stop that you'd get in real life is making it hard for me to really get into the show and enjoy it. However, I wasn't that fond of the animation styles of both The Clone Wars and Green Lantern but I got used to both and really enjoyed them so I'm giving BtB a few more episodes to decided whether or not I can get used to it or not.

Actually one of the various Alfred backgrounds is the one they use in this. They've changed his background like a dozen times over the years. At one point he was an actor and then a military medic.

Kinda like the show, but indeed Bat's forehead is really weird, even weirder is that Bruce Wayne looks fine, I actually like his character design, he just apparently become disproportionate once he put the cowl on... The bat-belt is cool though. Maybe the animation will get better if the show finds an audience, and I hope it does. It's not as good as the BTAS, and I don't think anything will ever be as good as BTAS, but at least it gets us Batman on the small screen. Better that than nothing !

Cartoon Network will fail to support it like they did thundercats and it'll get canceled even if they get a ton of viewers. The only shows they seem to back is Adventure Time and Regular show.
