Best ROTS Vader shoulder/chest armor

I know a lot of you guys are going to think I'm nuts but I'm planning on changing my ESB/ROTJ Vader to a ROTS Vader since I think it'd look better on me since I'm more Hayden-sized than Prowse size. I've seen some pop up pn Ebay, but aren't sure about their accuracy. Is the Rubies version actually cast from the screen used armor, I was thinking about modifying that(making it thicker,paint, etc). Any help would be appreciated.

I think FettPride has some cool ROTS armor. Perhaps he will chime in. I have seen some on EBay, but it looks like the bells dont match and its kind of lop-sided looking to me. Don't know if that is like someones tells or not, or accuracy of size. As far as the Rubies goes, its pretty flimsy. I have seen guy have reinforced it and it looks great. It would be cool if someone made a fibeglass set of it.

I did see the pictures of the entire ROTS Vader at Bingo Bongo's site that he made along with WellPaidKiller and it does look great, i would definitely buy some of that armor. Wasn't aware that any reproductions of it were for sale. I like the helmet they did better than the actual one in the movie.

Definitely will do, but it'll be a little while. Here's what I have now, a decent ESB/ROTJ style Vader.

I would say the rots armour looks a little plasticky compared to the ot stuff and the rubbies once repainted can look good. Most fibreglass stuff seems to be a bit off in some way to me. What armour are you using for your esb vader?

Its Altmanns armor, made of vacuuformed plastic. Its pretty small compared to other armors, but it fits well and is comfortable. I repainted it to match the gunmetal on my CA helmet. I'm 6'4'' with the helmet and platforms, but it isn't turning out the way I want, so I'm going ROTS. I put it together when I didn't have all the knowledge I have now about the costume(look at the long belt boxes). Think I'm going to get Portumac's ROTS chest box and belt. Anyone else have some of these?

How tall are you out of costume ?

I have a set of repainted Rubies myself and it works fine for me.

I saw some of portumac's ROTS armor on eBay a while back and it looked pretty good to me.

I'm just under 6' out of costume. I do think I may go the Rubies route because the getting that MR helmet is going to tap me out. :lol Thanks for the help guys.

With a good repaint it will be fine. It's very lightweight and will look the part.

To me the Rubie's armor is the closest out there as far as general shape, particularly in the shoulder bells. Portumac's shoulder bells, in my opinion, are too short width-wise and don't stick out far enough on each side. I've coated the back of my Rubie's armor with fiberglassing resin to make it much thicker and heavier, I just need to sand the edges smooth and repaint it but I've been putting it off because I'm afraid of screwing it up.

I was thinking of recasting the whole thing after making it thicker. For personal use of course Just use a little clay on the edges to thicken it up then recast it, no worries about messing anything up. Yeah I thought the Porty armor is a little off. Is the Rubies armor actually the same dimensions as the screen used? It'd be great to get the screen used armor measurements at least.

I'm not sure if the dimensions are the same but it looks like it to me. I'm 6' 1", Hayden's height, and it fit's me just like the real deal.

I'm 6' 2', and the rubies is flimsy, but fits fine. I have been hoping someone would make a fiberglass set of it.

I like the way this helmet here reads. Which helmet is it?!

And the ROTS head/ dome is larger I think than OT, side to side. This one probably looks better.
