Another I feel should be mentioned is Christopher Reeve as Superman. It was a performance that really influenced how the character was perceived by everyone, even though he was the studio's last pick for the character. I don't think anyone could've done what he did, notably for the movie he was in (even when put against A-listers like Burt Reynolds and Paul Newman).

I don't think comic books can be done as live action, but if pushed, I think in his prime, Clint Walker would have been a great Superman ..

One of the things I really liked about his performance was also Clark. It was one of those performances where it was clear to me that "Superman" really was the "mask", and the REAL Clark was the person at the wheel.

Ed O'Neil as Al Bundy. I can't picture anybody else playing the character.
